Our Approach

I am a practitioner who approaches counselling in a collaborative way, helping you to move beyond simply surviving and be able to deal with life stressors with greater ease. Working together, we will explore your experience and difficulties to achieve a deeper understanding of who you are; how you think, feel and behave.

By working with me, you will also develop a deeper understanding of the effects that stress, anxiety and other issues can have on your body and mental and physical health. My goal is to encourage you to be curious about your internal world and to heal the parts of yourself that hold your emotional wounds.

Before counselling, I worked as an executive level officer in the public sector working in various people focused roles including Human Resources and Training. I have also worked in Human Resources in the private sector. These experiences gave me a solid understanding of how people think, feel and react to situations.

  • BA Hons (Bachelor of Arts with Honours) - Australian National University

The focus of this study was psychology and sociology. Honours was achieved in sociology.

  • Grad Dip Couns (Graduate Diploma, Counselling) - University of Canberra

  • MCouns (Master of Counselling) - University of Canberra

I am a trainee practitioner whose work is informed by Attachment Theory and Self Psychology. I will work with you to explore your difficulties and help you feel comfortable to consider your experience, inner life and experiment with new behaviours or responses to issues that are troubling you.

Like many others, the pandemic gave me the opportunity to reflect on my career. I was prompted to return to my passion of mental health care and resume study to complete my Graduate Diploma in Counselling. I am really excited to complete my practical placement and further my professional counselling journey, working directly with clients in a supportive environment. This includes an experienced clinical supervisor.

As a trainee, I can offer unlimited sessions at a reduced rate.

While I complete my study, I continue to work as an executive level officer in the public service. This career has equipped me with a range of professional and people management as well as personal life skills that all enhance my counselling practice.
